HAND TO THE SKY

I held my hand in front of me, and sculpted from the direct observation as well as photos. It took a number of sessions sculpting the clay until it reflected all of the intricate lines, angles and shapes I saw. I like the pose where the hand points upwards.

Sculpted in clay from a live model, the woman is deep in thought, captured in bronze.

All of the Female Figures pictured below were sculpted in clay and made into bronzes. Particular positions of the figures were determined by how the models posed. Bases upon which they sit were imagined. The patinas chosen for the bronzes varied from dark green hues to striking blues, which enhanced the beauty of the forms.
